I have a box of nice 6SN7, even premium Brimar CV1988, but I've had a tall Philco 7N7 in my Lyr3 since I found it, and since acquired backups, both Philco and Sylvania JAN, all tall, square shouldered Frankensteins. Special.

A quick question for you. Where did you have the best luck finding 7N7 tubes? They seem fairly hard to come by, though I've only just begun to search.

I found several on eBay, searching for '7n7 tall'.

There's a promising Hytron up there now.

Agree, he's a great character. I thought that season 2 was better than season 1 - more story, less skin.

My favorite Netflix short series is Queens Gambit, I have read most of the works of Walter Tevis (The Hustler, The Color of Money, The Man who Fell to Earth etc.) and I thought the story was done exceedingly well. I played my last tournament in Lexington Ky where some of the series is supposedly set so I know the area. I have played through all of the major games in the series and even the speed chess games were accurate as far as I could tell.

That Hytron has the right configuration, but it looks like the bottom mica is cracked. May be just a photo distortion, but I don't think so.

There's also one with a Philco brand and the right configuration ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/255010314715?hash=item3b5fcc99db:g:aRUAAOSw~PdeN0dM ) but I wouldn't (personally) pay $55 for it. With some patience these can be found for less than $25, just need to keep an eye out for them.

I caught a bargain on one but otherwise the going rate was around $47 each for NOS but I have not looked in a while. The seller who had a bunch was honest and honorable as best I could tell. He treated FLTWS well on a couple he bought.

That was also an entertaining and fascinating series. I was concerned about the start, that it might be a little dark, but the story arc ended up being very satisfying.

Hi everyone. Just hooked up my Modius to Rag2. Trying to stream Amazon HD music through Modius. Playing UltraHD track that states 24/192 but playing at 24/48. Is it not seeing the DAC? It does state in the speakers selected that it is a Schitt Modius

Any help?

I checked my records, and it looks like I've paid about $20 apiece for my 7n7's, even the JAN. All tall, and all very close in sound, at least to my ears.

Try the Windows settings for Modius. It must have defaulted to 24/48 but you can change it to 24/192.
