What were the initial impressions of the beta testers of the unison usb in yggdrasil or gungnir? Was it better than the aws/ebu for the yggdrasil?

That's a crazy shipping and import charge. In the US with Amazon Prime, it is free one day shipping.

It is. I have never seen that crazy kind of fees. Usually it’s around $10 in handling fees and 25% in taxes on the purchase price.

$53, that’s a fair price I think, but,
$506 in shipping and import fees? Yikes! :scream:
I think I’ll shop local on this one.. :smirk:
..even if I can save $2.40 at checkout.

You're going to walk away from a $2.40 discount? Man, must be nice to have that kind of money.

DBPowerAmp has that and more. I got tired of the DIY Garage Shop setup of EAC everytime I got a new PC. I used EAC for years and notice no sound difference with DBPowerAmp. DBPowerAmp is so much easier to use with no guesswork.
I use DBPowerAmp as well and have used it for years with no complaints. Regarding CD drives, I would guess that back in the earlier days of Win7 and before, the variety of CD drives available to computer manufacturers were quite large and the capabilities of each varied just as well. With all computers now shipping with DVD drives at the bare minimum and CD-only drives relegated to the museum, standards have probably firmed up to the point that the DVD drives can handle pretty much anything an audio CD throws at it and ripping problems become rarer and rarer. I do like the fact that when I rip a CD, DBPA compares the CRC it generated to those in its database and lets me know if others have ripped to the same CRC.

I'm afraid the needs of the many (Unison) outweigh the needs of the few (Jot R). :p
Exactly why they need to get Jot R out the door and out of the way so they can focus on Unison.

However, if you think of Jotunheim R as the first step toward a Jotunheim Nexus for all other kinds of headphones, wouldn't that qualify as a need of the many? It certainly does for me :D (and, frankly, I'd be willing to pay more for Jotunheim Nexus if the topology made it impossible to stick to the current price point; why not have a $399 Pivot Point Jotunheim alongside a $XXX Nexus Jotunheim on the catalog?)

The great thing with DBPoweramp, besides the support, was how well it worked with an Acronova Nimbie. That makes it possible to easily rip hundreds of CDs in a day.

Wow, those things are pricy!

Rats, I needed that two years ago: 750 CDs and 120 DVDs. It took me weeks. It might have been worth the price of Nimbie admission to make that less painful. Too late for Acronova now, if I rip four CDs in a day it's a busy day for me.

Coming from vinyl, I prefer a more tactile and intimate relationship with my music, so I'll just keep savoring the process of ripping my CDs one-by-one. :smirk:
