Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@Jason Stoddard: That's fine unless your business relies on China, Canada and Europe. The semiconductor fabrication industry is starting to get hit hard. Alternatives do not exist, or require 6-10 months to qualify.

Thanks for the information, and your transparency, Jason.
Much appreciated by me and the folks on this thread...
And, good luck @Ableza with your challenges!

@Jason Stoddard

Maybe the high voltage parts are still in stock? This could be a sign it's time for a Schiit ES amp!

Eeeeek.

Well, like I said, it hasn't hit us...yet. But if semiconductors start becoming scarce, then things could get very, very interesting. It's not like we can swap out a different DAC, microcontroller, regulator, or even most of the discretes.

Oh boy...

AAAAAnnndddd, just like that...my first semiconductor shortage (a differential line receiver), 37 week lead-times...that keep slipping...oh boy.

As swamped as you are and as many chapters there's been recently about the production side of things, you probably need a full time production engineer.

Not quite yet. Never be railroaded into staffing up when you don't NEED to, because you don't want to lay off unless you absolutely HAVE to.

A good part of my craziness is by choice--developing new products that may or may not come to pass, chasing down some rather obscure discrete ideas, etc. We'll see how crazy things remain for the rest of the year...and then we'll look at that idea again.

Yea, sorry to hear it, but stand by. If this tariff situation lasts much longer than a month or two, supply chain could get dicey, and/or a whole lot more expensive.

I'm pessimistic these days, I forsee alot of bad things happening if the current tariff situation doesn't end ( I believe it's going to get worse, way worse). My worst fear is a chain reaction causing another depression (like the 20's & 30's).

The US is sitting on 2.5 billion pounds of processed meat right now, exports slowing. Harvest coming, contracts will of course be filled, but what about the stuff that's not on contract.... Going to be a slow moving avalanche of pain coming. It's gonna be yuuge and it'll be spectacular....

Farmers are going to be given 12 billion dollars so directly or indirectly we will be paying for a lot of this. Some of my Chinese suppliers announced 25% increases were ready a month ago.
