The last I read Vidar was supposed to be 9" W x 12.9" D x 3.85" H.
Can you elaborate more on this, please? I'm interested about the why's.
Thanks!

Thank you, that was my approximate guess. I might be interested in doing a second desk setup with a Jot Vidar stack

That's pretty much it, though the binding posts stick out another inch or so.
Bill Gates was a stubborn engineer. He was known to ask you about your project, ask a few probing question and would make other realize they are heading in the wrong direction.
It may seem obvious to consumers Apple will go the way of USB-C, but I don't think they will. The simple fact that USB-C is bigger and they can't control the ecosystem would make Apple stick with their own proprietary lightning connector.
Guess he didn't ask any questions about the Zune DAP or Windows mobile, or the "why the hell are we putting Steve Ballmer in charge?" question...talk about wrong directions...
Because it's not all about what the unit can or can't do in software. The reason a product like the microRendu is better than a computer is that it can sound better than a standard computer. Why? Because the hardware is optimized for audio output. All unnecessary noise creating circuity is either not present or disabled.

In case of the Jot you would want to know if you can stack the Vidars and go balanced with the Jot on top. Well...I do.
But it could also be that that would get too damn hot too damn quick.

@Jason; Can you tip us on the progress of MP/The Gadget and Eitr?

This is extremely speculative, especially in the absence of independent measurements. Depending on the device, it could be better or worse than a computer...which could be better or worse than another computer...which could be better or worse than a tablet...which could be better or worse than a phone.
We've done some investigation into USB quality, and there's no real correlation with price or type of device--there is, however, two different ways to handle packets. PCs and Linux do it one way, Macs do it another way. Beyond that, it's catch-as-catch-can. And, in any case, we could be measuring the wrong thing. Or fooling ourselves, as there is no difference in data integrity.
So I guess you really are gonna manufacture a Schiit streamer!
