Geez Louise...if the LED on the front panel was that bright...I'd break out the electrical tape to cover it like I do with a couple of PC towers with INSANELY bright blue LEDs for power and hard drive access lights.

Speaking of egregiously bright lights on electronics, I have a LaCie external RAID enclosure, I ended up putting an OD 3 glass filter in front of the LED which brought it down to an acceptable level. For those unfamiliar with optical filters an OD 3 filter blocks 99.9% of the light incident on it. The LaCie light is literally 1000x too bright for my taste.
