"It is amazing how many drivers, even at the Formula One Level, think that the brakes are for slowing the car down." – Mario Andretti
I am sure you understand what that means… Andretti is not saying he doesn’t brake. He brakes as hard as possible, as late as possible, to accelerate hard at the apex and reduce lap time. Anyway, I’m not here to discuss sports car driving. :)

Listening to El Camino by the Black Keys. Easy to forget what a great album this. Jotunheim 2 powering HE6SEV2 is superb with this album.

My desktop signal path is: PC -> BF2 -> Lyr 3 or Piety -> Rekkr -> Acoustic Audio Subwoofer / TS Radial mini speakers. It's amazing how 2w of quality power can provide high quality and more than enough volume. Rekkr replaced a 60w x 2 Class D amp and sounds even better with more than enough volume.
And this was surprising to......oh yeah. Nobody.

🤣 🤣

Already have a Modi+, and currently paired with a Heretic. Would have been cool to downsize into a single unit with the Unity, but I do need optical for when I play PS5. Oh well.
Do you have a spare coax? There are optical to coax converters. I have like 5 in the different flavors: opt->coax coax back to opt ....

... an excellent high-end shop in Arlington, MA. ... worked for Stratus Computer and we had this amazing “grounding wire” that was used to ensure common ground across the racks of the fault tolerant computer. It was 2 guage stranded, 100% copper! Yes, 2 - freaking - guage!… ...
5. There is NO need to spend mega bucks. I will happily “race” my custom 2 guage set against ANY/ALL other cables in any system at any time. And, I bet they’ll “win” (or at least tie). (Note: they are UGLY as heck!)
...
Ugly,ftw?

i used to live in Arlington (above the bakery and movie theater). Never did understand why it was a "moist town".
You're not talking Goodwin's above? They were never in Arlington, iirc?

Stratus! Now that's a blast from the past. I had stints at ComputerVision, PrIme (because they bought CV), and, very VERY briefly at GenRad.

I remember when we got our first car with an FM radio in it.
It was like a miracle ... no longer did the music go away when driving under an overpass! :)
SiriusXM hasn't mastered that yet....

As it relates to cables, cords, fuses -- here is my story:

1....
3. Power cables is a hard-stop at approx. $80 for a standard IEC 5 ft. cable. Shielding to minimize/eliminate interference with low-level signal cables (see #2) and solid connection to the device and wall socket is my objective. Quality of the conductive material, connectors, design, and jacket matter to me here as does aesthetics. (All mine are Pangea AC-14)
...
I could have written the above! My cable splurges are:
1. Really fantastic headphone cables from Hart. Red XLR and Blue RCA. love 'em!
2. The rainbow cables previously mentioned (from Pine Audio)
3. A red and a white braided power cables for my monoblocks because I hate labelling all those black cables. (Also from Pine Audio)

Only audible effect, IMO, came from the speaker cables.

I also got a bunch of random AudioQuest at a bankruptcy sale...

Truth is I do like it. It's an old favorite.
My introduction to Joan Baez is from the movie "Silent Running". Joan Baez, Bruce Dern, and poker playing robots/droids. What more could you want?
Cheers!:beerchug:
-HK sends
And a score by PDQ Bach (Peter Schickele), as mentioned a few pages back.

It's like musicians have forgotten "Music is the space between the notes." - Debussy
