Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Oh, I forgot, now I have to figure out how to arrange the three remotes into a Triforce
That inspires me to suggest to @Jason Stoddard that Schiit make their remotes "Power Ranger"-like that join together to form one MegaZordRemote!

Happy New Year (western edition) to everyone!

ROFL! Love it! Except I want mine to build out into a 1940's Western Electric 300B. 🤣

Happy New Year fellow Schiitizens! I got into this hobby during the pandemic and since then I’ve bought 4 Schiit products and all 4 have been great for me. I love this thread, not only because of Jason’s insights, but because of the wonderful people who really have turned a co-founder’s storytelling thread into that plus an entire culture of hifi. Y’all are wonderful, and I hope 2024 just continues the vibes I am so grateful for.

I was using the FV, but as someone aptly pointed out, I was burning 6 extra tubes over a Valhalla.
You can use only 4 tubes on FV: 2 Pre and 2 Power tubes.

True. But I have a Valhalla 2 and won't need to pull any tubes. It was literally sitting in a cabinet collecting dust until the Rekkr came along. I still use the FV headphone out most of the time.

Speaking of blowing out audio gear…

To date, the first track on this album (Broke Down on the Brazos) is the only piece of audio that reliably (with certain tubes, anyway) manages to trip my Folkvangr into protection, even at relatively low volumes. (High gain, impedance multiplier off, HD58x. Works fine in low gain.)

About 15 or so years ago, my then-fiancée worked at a movie theater. Sometimes, when she had to clean up rows between screenings, she had the projection guy put on this track for her. Probably rattled a few tiles off the roof of the place.

Welcome to the circus, @JanMc {{{like the raven or corvid image... smart birds!}}}. This is the usual chatter. Go to the following sine wave to predict the nonsense...

Thank @Timster ….this is their creation!

I treated myself to three Gov't Mule CDs for Christmas. I've had By A Thread for years. :L3000:

I treated myself to the first four Luscious Jackson CDs which I found at a thrift store for $1 each. Also one by Pop Will Eat Itself that I didn't have. :)

Looking at your gear list: #1 for sure. You get more bang-for-$ the closer you get to the transducers. Urd may be at best a small improvement on your CD player; Yggy GS2 will improve over the BF, but the BF is already very good. MJ3 is something else, by far the best bang-for-$ headamp I've owned, and I've owned quite a few.
Agreed, MJ3 is some amazing Schiit. I'm glad to hear that Jason will be keeping it in the lineup, so that more people can experience it.

Happy New Year, everyone. I am back, after a crazy December... and I'm ready for a new year! <g>

p.s. - Urd -> Unison USB to Yggy OG A2 or MiB is more than a small improvement over my CD player (as a transport, coax in to either DAC)... of course, YMMV.

Wow, maybe I am a little slow as the end of the year draws near, but reading the last few pages here makes me want some of whatever these people are taking (not including Ripper and BCowen of course). Most of the posts suggest to me that I might be living on an entirely different planet/plane than most of the rest of you. Here's hoping reality makes a come back in the new year!
I hear reality is overrated, and no, I don't drink or take funny stuff, except for what enters my mind while reading
this forum...

Oh, no, no, no, no, no... Please don't tell me it true!

Happy New Year to my fellow Schiitizens!!!
(Didn’t want to post early lest it trigger an event of apocalyptic proportions e.g. massive earthquake / tsunami, zombie attack, pestilence, AI takeover)

(added)
unaware of the Jpn earthquakes when I posted this or would have used "locust swarm" instead
