The 'Wyatt' nickname is cause a guy called Wyatt found and bought most of the surviving units cause he liked them so much. He loaned a few out to friends to share it and everyone quickly fell in love with it and so the 'Wyatt tube' nickname sort of stuck.
I'm not so sure about how the geometry of the tube may/may not affect things. I can only assume it would to some degree given as there are various tubes made in shapes that would otherwise seem un-necessarily complex and we'd likely see many more with a basic 'bulb' shape. But I'm not sure about the specifics
Unsure how I missed this post last month. I chased down what info I could on this mysterious tube, and briefly spoke with Wyatt about the tube on Z's channel when he want to visit you. I have since obtained what I believe is the same tube you had shared in that video, a CEI 7062 Made in France model. It sounds great, but I do wonder if I have the better of the E180CC tubes. Do you A, know how I might contact Wyatt, or know which version of the tube is the best to go with? Thanks guys.
Side note, I did manage to get the McMurdo adapter as well.
I assume you’re not American? In the US, there is no standard consumer to consumer bank transfer like in most of the world. Instead we have multiple shades of shady private companies inserting themselves as middlemen.
The EU with almost 30 sovereign countries, has regulation to force banks to interoperate for consumer benefit in ways the single national government in the US is unable to.
Goes very well with a suitable weekend libation. The whole album is a chill, superbly musical reinterpretation of late 60s classics interspersed with Scofield compositions.
The Bifrost 2 is an amazing DAC! I was listening to the BF 2/64 in my 2-channel speaker rig (I have a BF2 OG for my HP rig) last night and loving every moment of it. Had me wondering how on Earth can the Yggy GS2 I ordered possibly top this!? If I wasn't such an idiot, I would just be happy with the BF2/64, but as fate would have it, I am an idiot.
But a Happy one!!
** I know this can be controversial, but the BF2 will sound even better after about 50 hours.
I'm very happy with my Bifrost 2/64. I've thought about the larger form factor Schiit products, but even with my lawyer grandfathers 60" desk, I don't have the real estate (3 monitors eat space).
After spending $300 to upgrade my barely one year old Bifrost 2 with the 64 card, I'm ready for another. Schiit, give us a Bifrost card with the new TI chip.
