Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hi Tom, you're on the right track with the exercise. I torn mine to 51 yrs ago. It was a complete tear. Surgery then was 3 day stay in hospital. Next to worst surgery I have ever had. I asked the surgeon then what to do and his reply then was exercise. The surrounding muscles will stabilize the area.
Worked for me. Had the knee replaced 2 yrs ago and the other side a few months later. To me, both those replacements was a walk in the park compared to the surgery 51 yrs ago.
I am sure you vetted your doctors. Take care. Oh yea, ice machine is your friend.
Of course I vetted my doctors and both are vets.🤪🤪 One is my personal MD. QUOTE="fendermke, post: 17799485, member: 541325"]
I’ve been down the surgery route more times than I have fingers. The best prevention is PT to learn the exercises and keep doing them. The stronger the muscles around the joint are the longer and more pain free you will be.

Also get well soon so you can get back in your shop creating your stunning projects for others.

Absolutely, I think I owe @bcowen a butter knife or caviar spoon once I learn how to work with solid gold. The man is high maintenance after all. 🤪🤪🤪

These are the 3 stands I had in summer of 2023. 20" x 15" shelves. Plenty of room for rack size, full size Schiit and other stuff, and side by side for Schiit's desktop sized boxes and other stuff. Plenty of ventilation, and casters to make changes of gear and cables easily. No box to big for these shelves and they are made of the hardest MFD I've ever experienced. No amount of weight would cause them to sag over time and the surfaces were scuff free. Corner bars are 3/4 inch rebar and heavy.

Some of my work is in that photo, I got to know a lot of people on this thread and @FLTWS, Ripper, Cowen, Sam6550, and Rensek are toward the top. All honored me by accepting one of my amps and contributing to my helping others.😉 It is not my intention to leave anyone out of course.

Maybe a 60Hz hum. ...
It occurs to me....

Not un-often people post asking if they have a ground loop or if the noise means a broken thing. Hilarity ensues as multiple responders request a description of the sound being heard.

On the iPhone there's an app called Decibel X; I'm sure similar Android apps exist. Maybe next time ask them to post the spectra using such an app?
Or is it too much fun trying without such spectra?

Interesting, I have a sort of similar experience that I was intending to document here and seek input.
...
 Given the description it could be something like the tolerance is a little loose for the tube sockets when the system is cold. The thermal expansion gets it back to spec, maybe?

I was warned about arthritis if I had surgery. No matter what I was told I need to strengthen specific muscles.😉
Strengthening specific muscles is always good. That's been my practice for decades, which is why I've managed to stay very active even though the mountains kept teaching me who's the boss. The caution about arthritis is puzzling: torn cartilage floating around the joint is no friend of joint health either. Most orthopedic surgeons who don't focus on sports give up on anyone older than 45. Just sit on your couch and it won't hurt... I've carefully chosen my orthopedic docs to be sports-focused. My current one has been team doc for a bunch of well-known college and pro teams. They understand an active life and treat accordingly.

Easy: All vertically, arranged by size, on a steel wire rack for improved air flow, with chunky bookends to keep ‘em from falling over when the big one hits.
The california lament… ¡It’s all Richter’s FAULT!

I’ll be leaving now…
