Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

SchiitTalker will even point you in the direction of other manufacturers ... A deus ex machina of Schiit's philosophy of transparency and "if you don't like what Schiit has to offer there are plenty of other brands out there" perhaps

Q: "Which headphone amps work best for high-impedance headphones?" <-- admittedly a vague question, but was a bit surprised by the response

THX AAA 789 sounds 👎 😒 with high-impedance headphones. A nice square-waver, though. 😂

Schiit bot isn't aware of the existence of the piety yet, unfortunately. Is there a way for me to teach it?
Make it divide by zero - just to flush it out …

The SchiitTalker ‘take’ on: (a) front-panel power switch; (b) amber LED; (c) taller feet ??

It already said its piece on the power switches. Apparently Schiit puts them on the front of all of its products because it's more convenient, even though many customers prefer them on the rear.

Something we're playing around with a bit:

https://www.schiit.com/contact

Let me emphasize that this is a first-generation, ChatGPT 3.5-based bot that still needs training (as in, if it gives you the wrong answer, let it know--it will learn.) Consider this just for fun at the moment. If it's useful, we'll up it to ChatGPT 4. But feel free to have some fun and let me know what you think.

Hmmm....LOL. The underlying message seems to be that I should contact Schiit customer service.

Hi! I'm SchiitTalker, an AI. That means I'm not 100% perfect, but I'm 100% available and want to help. What can I help you with?

My yggdrasil imploded.

Oh no! That's not good. What happened? Did you try contacting Schiit Audio's customer support? They might be able to help you out. If you need to send it back, they can help you with that too.

Well, it's now the size of a pea.

Oh my! That's quite a transformation. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much I can do to help with that. It sounds like you might need to look into getting a replacement. Have you tried contacting Schiit Audio's customer support to see what your options are?

My versions are a bit more sedate.😁CA523CA5-A68B-44EF-893B-C1C6177E8FB6.jpeg

Yours are much, much more beautiful.

But the thing about that particular Douk is that besides the ORT meters it lets you switch amps and speakers remotely. I want to be able to listen to my Mani-2s with two different amps (the Denon receiver and my Meitner PA6i/STR55) without having to rewire things each time I swap.

Sounds great if that is your goal  Some are made for line input levels, that Douk is an amp and speaker selector with power meters..

In the meantime I have decided to refurbish receivers from the time period when no one had broken the 100 watt rms per channel barrier until Pioneer did it with the SX1010. Notice I am talking receivers and not power amps. That Pioneer is one I will seek to own. Eventually receivers got up to over 300 watts per channel with the Technics SA-1000 topping out at 330 watts. I have less interest in those. I want to stay around the 100 watt per channel range and the Sansui 9090DB I am rebuilding fits that model. Naturally I have Marantz models in mind, maybe a 2270, maybe a Sanyo JCX-2900 as well as a Yamaha CR-1020. I hope to stick to the start of the power wars and not so much the endgame.
