This is an utterly unhelpful response, of course, because you asked for Vidar 2—the one Schiit amp I
don't have.
But I was curious, did some tests, and thought I should share:
According to my Kill-A-Watt, at idle*…
…Vidar 1 peaks at ~41W during startup, and once the caps have settled in it levels out at about 38.5W. No standby mode, of course.
…Aegir peaks at ~104W during startup, and then levels out at about 79W—but it takes an hour or two to get there. Draws 11W in standby.
…Tyr peaks at ~43W during startup, and then levels out at about 35W. Draws 9W in standby.
Which means that out of these three, Tyr is your most economical choice. Who knew!
* in this context, "idle" means connected to a fully powered-up source chain and speakers, but nothing is playing.
