Don't understand the allure of McIntosh, never heard one, heard they and cockroaches will survive the upcoming apocalypse.

Now, what do y'all think of HiFi Rose? VU meters and gears!

Sometimes it helps to hear one. Some of their bling is nostalgic but who has not heard of the brand?😁

I refurbed one piece as part of setting up the audio gear shown on the Bosch TV show and the combined pieces were quite good compared to modern tube gear. Especially with West coast jazz vinyl.😉😉

HiFi Rose or McIntosh? btw, for McIntosh what's with all the used listings saying something like "and no bubbles in the glass."

Some of the gear is very old. Some old amps fetch $5,000, some do not. It’s like old Thorens turntables selling for much more now than when new. Many are not working. An item is worth what people are willing to pay for it.

Tube burn in.
You are fortunate that there are so many other tubes you can try if you so desire. I have used the 6sn7 version LISSTS and they do not sound bad, just different. Vacuum tubes can vary so much and sound so good IMHO.
What do you think of the Freya+ decision to power down the heaters after 30 seconds (if that)? I could see a minute or two. Is there a way to hack this?

P.S. Just noticed, also looks like it can make toast! :)

That is no rose to my eye. More like a thorn.

I think it's a disgrace. A Nanny state 'feature' trying to control the state of our thermionic bliss. We should all march on Newhall in morning!

When I say 'we', I mean you. You could try to buff up and look like an angry mob - carrying pitchforks with heaters shining bright. Mind the extension cord.

say what you will about the unconventional ID (industrial design) and UI, but it does have a switch to dim the front panel LED's
