Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I've never had a garbled sound problem. I would have returned it years ago.
But do you listen only to sine waves? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

For the record, I've never encountered garbled sound or any other defects during the >4 years I've owned my OG Modi Multibit. @Ripper2860, I've used mine mostly with USB and Toslink inputs.

I've been a long-time customer, owning 12 Schitt amps and DACs, but sadly I had my first device fail, a brand new Lyr+ with a major channel imbalance in high gain mode, which failed within an hour of unboxing it.

Sadly, customer service has been less the stellar. The issue has been dragging on for 5 days. Sadly, they don't have any replacements in stock, but I said "no problem, the website says they'll be available in 2-4 weeks, so ship me one when they're ready, and I'll return the failed one in the meanwhile" - but no dice, and rather I need to repurchase it after returning the old one and getting a refund.

It might not seem like a big deal, but I get the feeling I'm going to get screwed on shipping, as in my original order there were multiple items, so I'll probably only get a partial shipping refund. And waiting for the return/refund before ordering the replacement is just going to further delay the time until I get a new one.

I don't know what's so hard about them shipping me a new unit after I return the broken one, when I'm fine waiting the 2-4 weeks.

I'm sure they'll take care of you and you won't be out any extra shipping.

.
@Jason Stoddard stepped in before my original reply posted. @MarkF786 Schiit customer support is excellent. Let it play out and don't get discouraged.

I hope you get your problem worked out. I have a supply chain story as well. We have a Honda Pilot that has an audio problem. A part has been on order since August. We are streaming to a bluetooth speaker for sound. I'm rather ticked off about it but what can you do?

I’ve had a couple of issues with a Saga+ and a Lokius and was worried about getting screwed each time. Schiit CS has taken care of me every time. I don’t like corresponding via email though because it seems like one business to reply each time but I was very pleased overall.

Nah, most likely we'll be getting out of the cable biz, except uniques (shorties) and stuff we have to provide (Fulla, Hel come with USB A-C cables). Too much pain to try to cover all the variations.
What's the downside to a cooperative marketing agreement with a cable maker? Choose your favorite: Blue Jeans, Straightwire, Hapa....

You can’t prove he isn’t real and you may acting as an agent on their behalf.
Long distance mind control from the North Pole? That would solve many of the problems the "hard science" types have with our jolly old friend....

No downside, no upside. We already refer people freely to Snake Oil and Straightwire.

It's stocking 486 variations of cables that's the killer.

In my year-end wrap-up, I'll get into some of the, ah, need to focus. Finding out we were sitting on $150K of cables--a 7-year supply in some cases (short XLRs) was a big wake-up call.

So when you test for a user issue, you don't try to replicate the problem as described by the user? You just figure it out? And when you can't find it, you just stay quiet and don't say anything? Something is wrong with this story.

I think Jason is combining the facts of different stories for ease of narrative simplicity.
