The search on these services is so INSANE!!!! Witches' Brew New Symphony Orchestra of London does NOT bring this album to the top! But new orchestra of london alexander gibson does! I am not a programmer, but is it really THAT hard?
If the person developing the search has a basic grasp of natural language, then no.
What percentage of programmers would you say that description applies to? ;-D

What is the difference between heaven and hell?

In heaven, the English are the police, the French are the cooks and the Germans are the engineers.

In hell, the Germans are the police, the English are the cooks, and the French are the engineers.
You forgot the Italian part.
Something like in heaven your lover is Italian and in hell the Germans are. Something like that.

My turntable plinth is coming along. One inch thick birdseye maple. It should contrast nicely with solid cherry. This is before any gluing, sanding, or finishing. I am working on getting the most select pieces to the front and sides. The wood has some small divots that are occur naturally. They can show the most along the edges.

Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 I bought pretty cheap. I did look for a used Sol but there were none to be found. I also have a direct drive Hitachi I bought new in the late seventies or early eighties.

In heaven, the English are the police, the French are the cooks and the Germans are the engineers. You have an American house and Japanese wife.
Maybe we do like cardboard a little too much on this thread. Don't tell my cat I said this, though.

And Yes - this remastering Lo Res as HI res is shameful practice - by people who are either greedy, ignorant or plain don't give a damn
Are you referring to Yes, the band. And are you saying some remastering of their music used Lo Res versions of songs, and if so how does one recognize those (if so I would like to avoid them).
Or... am I totally misunderstanding/hallucinating what you meant?
Thank you.

In hell, the Germans are the police, the English are the cooks, and the French are the engineers. You have a Japanese apartment and an American wife.
I can literally relate to this...
Especially to the apartments and wives...

Yes. Yes yes yes yes. Yes.
The Steven Wilson remixes of the Yes albums are excellent. I doubt the "Lo Res" (and what exactly does "Lo Res" mean in this context??) versions were the starting point but I could very easily be wrong.

This discussion brings up the concept of provenance which is, at best, a moving target in the audio world. In other words, which version has been re-mixed?

The provenance issue is one of the many reasons I question MQA, e.g. which version is/has been "Master quality Authenticated"?

In the case of MQA, "authenticated" means "the received proprietary file type is correctly recognized by a proprietarily licensed DAC and is true to our proprietary codec and is therefore authenticated as being true to the standard that we own." IMHO, of course.

But will we ever get a phone powered or integrated battery piece of Schiit, @Jason Stoddard ? I feel like I could do better every time I turn on my Fiio Q3…
@Jason Stoddard has been unequivocal in saying no Schiit with a User Interface. However, that doesn't eliminate the possibility of a portable, battery-powered head phone amp or DAC/amp which gets its signal from a phone or a DAP.

For the record, I have an American wife, I'm fine. Coming, Dear...
