The song lyrics were fun, all inclusive, and non-combative. What started out as favorite lyrics morphed into what song is this?:beerchug:

Another idea that might be interesting is to use only TWO words to describe the sound you seek in your main audio system.

My personal examples would be something like:

Accurate Warmth or
Engaging realness

My thoughts are if you cannot do this in two words only, use more sets of two words. This way it can be kept fairly brief. If others do not follow your word choices they can ask for further explanation.

Mr. Cowen is no doubt working but I am expecting "tubey maple" from him.

REL high-level inputs with Tyr

In a recent moment of weakness, I bought two REL T/9x subs to augment my B&W 804 D3s (the 20% off discount didn't help my resistance, either...).

My question is about connecting them to Tyr. I know that the Tyr is a differential amplifier and that shorting the hot/hot outputs is bad. The folks at REL released a video on how to connect the high-level inputs of the REL subs to a differential amp:

...but the video is showing a Primare A32 stereo amp, not a monoblock.

I will reach out to REL, of course, but I thought that I would check here first. Anybody done this before?

I wouldn’t recommend using high level inputs because the signal then goes through a high value electrolytic capacitor. I mean if you’re not that picky then go for it, but if you want accurate bass then use the line level inputs.

This is a separate issue from using Tyr. Refer to Schiit on that.
