Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Regrettably, I also have multi-day gaps between listening sessions on the 2-channel system, so I've recently gotten in the habit of leaving Bela Fleck - Flight of the Cosmic Hippo nearby and playing that, especially the title track, before settling in for active listening. Having my amps and speakers pump out Victor's low, low bass notes pushes some current and, I feel, gives the whole system a good warmup. Perhaps not valid from a physics and engineering perspective, but it's been working for me.
I usually just put Tidal on for an hour or so before moving on to serious listening. Maybe some Daft Punk.

Depending on my mood, Daft Punk can be serious listening.
Funny thing a gentleman played some of it on the same type amp and speakers I just bought and it made me want the same system lol.

A Schiit question. What was the retail price of a Schiit Mjolnir 2? I am guessing around $700 or so but it has been a while.

I truly appreciate your enthusiasm for maintaining high standards in your work. :beerchug:

For me, you hit the nail on the head here.

Post 100,053, where you gave several reasons why Roon isn't very good software by your standards, went way over my head but I got the gist of what you were saying.
At the end of the day, though, Roon just works for what I want it to do.

I know I'm in the minority of Roon users as I run my core on an Intel NUC running Roon ROCK, but I have to tell you that it has been absolutely appliance-like in operation. It ran for a year plus a week without needing to be restarted/rebooted and it would have gone longer if I didn't have to turn off a CB to install a ceiling fan in the office.
I truly appreciate your enthusiasm for maintaining high standards in your work. :beerchug:
I was once on a software standards committee at Aetna in the mid 80's. Me and my buddy had 2 buttons made up, told the committee that there are 5000 buttons to distribute. The buttons said "We've upped our standards, now up yours"

What did the other one say?

A Schiit question? Get outa here! 🤣

I payed $849.00 for mine in January 2021.
Thanks I happened to remember FLTWS took meticulous notes on his gear and found the price there.🤪

By the way I have tried to help others with audio related gear because I was taught to cast my bread upon the waters. Today I was rewarded with a serious cache of tubes for my efforts. To give is not always in vain.😉

Seems like that would just result in soggy bread. Maybe a good chaser after TX BBQ though...

You mean I have competition now? OK, fine then. I'll send more. Just don't be givin' away my cardboard. 🤣
