Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The 6N6P was only made in Russia.
Bingo.

The JJ E99CC is the closest thing out there, but with a 12V heater, Folkvangr would need a design change to use it.

Bonkers? Be still my beating heart! 🤗

Here's the thing: the past couple years have given us a ton of time to sit down in the lab, think and play. (In addition to the supply headaches.) I mean, we are essentially nerds. This is what we love doing. Read Asimov's essay on why he hates nice days. Not quite that bad, but you get the idea.

So there's a lot of interesting stuff we've been playing with. Most of which has never been mentioned.

And we've been working on some pretty darn big ideas...hell, I stumbled into another one this week, that still requires lots of testing to confirm that I'm not completely nuts, and definitely isn't on the table to go in a product this year. But don't be surprised if, well, you're really surprised. One of the medium-sized big ideas just got pushed to next year, but that makes room for a really big and crazy one...and that's in addition to a whole bunch more products that should make it this year, Murphy and his asshole squad willing.

And yeah, I know, this is a lot of new stuff, but this isn't 2019. The energy is totally different. We're not chasing where the industry has been. We're forging new paths.

Hopefully some of them go nifty places...

I know that's on their site/manual, but why is that the case? Is it that it doesn't work or distort the signal, or that you just shouldn't do it for some reason?
When connected in reverse mode, the volume control wiper is connected to the source, and at low settings presents a low impedance (a mild short circuit) to the source

Volume potentiometer passes both AC and DC signals

@bcowen will probably choke on his Twizzlers when he reads this but prior to Dynaco my first audio gear other than record players had the GE name on it. I was maybe 12 or 13 and was a tube tube type amp in a walnut cabinet with turntable, integrated amp, and speakers. I made a lot of changes to it and used it through my early college years.
Maybe you got lucky and the only thing GE about it was the name. 🤣

With all these new products coming, thank god I have an empty rack just waiting to be filled.

Mine actually burst into flames. Thankfully I was able to quickly extinguish it. Little toasty around the edges, but still fully functional. "Radio still works, clear as a bell."

Practical reason: the gain is not matched L/R and its not a great part of the chain (in reverse) unless used with the pot maxed. Its audibly asymmetric at lower volumes. Personal experience. But works great as manual switch for outputs with pot maxed.

I barely have the space for the 1 rack. If only I could get away with another rack.......
I punched a hole in the wall, so all of the amps are in the garage with fans on them. That way I do not hear the fans and The two Tyrs and the five Vidars do not take up space in my living room.
