Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I'm going to use my LCD4 and try the Stealth. Also I noticed Jason mentioned he liked it with his Grado's, so my GS3000e will be a must.

Should be a great match for the Senn HD800 or 800S.

Does anyone who ordered a Folkvanger shortly after orders opened remember what the shipping time was? It says 7-10 days now but I could swear it said 3-5 when I ordered. Hopefully got in on the first batch to ship.

Yes, it was 3-5 at first, then slipped to 7-10.
Login and check the order, if you are part of the first ones, the status will probably say "in production."
(It's possible that it'll say "in production" even if an order was placed while it said that it is 7-10 days out, but I am assuming not.)

I love that there are photos of the insides of Schiit's products on their website. Satisfies the desire to take the screws out and look inside. Looking at the Folkvangr interior photo, it's a little bit of a brain-bend to see surface mount components next to vacuum tube sockets on the same board. The juxtaposition of the ancient and new technologies is taking a bit of getting used to.

Actually, question for those who ordered via their Schiit account where you see the status: do you too see a number in your order status? I see ”Order Status: Folkvangr (Silver) 115 in production” and I ordered when it was 3-5.

The 115 could refer to the voltage.

Been reading how this amp isn't for every headphone. Admittedly I know very little about the engineering or electrical measurements for gear....would it be compatible with Utopia's and Empyrean's?

Folkvangr is everything I've come to love about Jason, Mike and Schiit Audio. This is a totally bat-schiit crazy insane and completely over the top headphone amplifier with 10 tubes. It won't drive speakers. Just headphones. And not every headphone on the market, no, it has limitations. All the more high-end-ish. Some will even say it is unreasonable as it makes demands on where you place it, how close people can get to it and how warm you might (dis)like your room while using it.

The plethora of tubes are the main visual design element, clearly visible in all their radiant glory. I love the look of the tubes nestled in that area of negative space below the top of the cabinet. It's very visually appealing without having been machined out of a 25kg billet of aluminum and leaving 18kg of chips behind. The metal working shop must have looked at that top panel and said "you want the radiused bend where?!?". Or the metal stamper saying "you sure you only want 250 of these?" when the PO was sent for the "muffin tin". It's an attractive piece of functional art.

I'll be appreciating the space heater feature in the colder weather. I'm cold 8 months of the year, so this will fit in nicely.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of mine.
It's an odd creation.

Looks like an internal (PCB) shot was added to the product page:

I intentionally waited a bit to order due to being out of town until late next week, and my 7-10 days estimated ship time order also shows "in production". The 115 is referring to the voltage selection.
