My favorite installment so far! I could use about 20,000 more words in this section alone! Great stuff!

A couple of photos of Eddie--a little later than this chapter, after we moved one of the cars out for more production space:

And yes, sometimes Eddie had some wine and Djarums while working--at least until Rina complained that we were stinking up the garage (and we were.)

Schiit today is a dry county—it wouldn't be pretty if we had OSHA stopping by with employees drinking Mad Dog 20-20 and sitting on the forklift...

Those OSHA guys can be a real pain. You leave one bottle of volatile chemicals and a capped pipe on a table over your lunchbreak and all hell breaks loose...

They get all sensitive about a person using an OSHA Ladder (5-gallon bucket) too.

I love this chapter (heck, I've loved the whole thing, and learned some stuff, too), but I have been anticipating the next installment since this kicked off. :)

You think OSHA is bad, try MSHA. Fined 25k for leaving the lid off of a trash can. Yeah....

My favourite chapter so far as well. Loved the Odeon CES road show story and that was a good chuckle!

I used to work for a company that also did specialised contract manufacturing and I always take my hat off to the skills those guys have in manufacturing electronics. Sometimes you just end up with odd items (typically BGA devices) to solder and these guys always find a way to do it and look very professional. I still have occasional nightmares of once trying to solder a high density pin connector and a couple 0202 SMD resistors..

Did the trash can contain nuclear waste? :)

Did the trash can contain nuclear waste? :)

I know that is a joke, but there is actually a possibility of that happening at most mines. The natural ore will contain some level of uranium that gets concentrated during refining. There was no such contamination here, just plastic gloves and misc. trash.

OK no more chemical engineering in this thread, I promise. BACK TO SCHIIT! My Grado SR325is cans show up today and I can't WAIT to plug them into my Bifrost/Vali!

Wow. I almost died laughing on the second video, when he's trying to use a corkscrew on a wine bottle that has a screw cap...

Wait ... is that Rina in video #2? ??? LOL
