My 2 cents... don’t cheap out on the socket-saver (and 6SN7-6922 adapter?).
Not intending to cheap out one bit, hence the question for a quality one here
I searched around first, but as I don’t know the diameter of the hole in the Vali2 chassis I don’t know which socket savers will fit.

Didn’t think about getting an adapter, but that’s a good idea. In fact I should be getting a 6922-6SN7 as well as a 6SN7-6922.
(so I can use any of my tubes in any amp of course,
not to be ridiculous and stack them. But then again.. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)

if you’re considering using an adapter, be prepared to trim pins... and avoid my frustration - - a tube sticking out at an 88.888888-degree angle. :robot:

Oh the absolute horror..! :scream:

But not to worry, I have my trusty tube alignment tool always at hand:

It's funny how people can use an ethical trap door like this.
How does one know the statement be thru or not.
Many people here waste enormous "markup" funds on their cars or even borrow money to buy one.
Why condemn the ones who would like to do that on a Schiit product?
Whatever float your boat yes?
If it existed and I had the money (which I have not), I would gladly pay for a two piece, solid aluminium, chrome dusted, fairy ejaculate covered Yggdrasil.

I'm totally with you, even the last sentence. Well, except for the anti-corrosive coating -- I always find those add-on options to be overpriced.

The (price) value of anything is exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. No more, no less.

The diameter of the hole in the Vali 2 cover is 25mm. I don't know, however, if that changed with the Vali 2+.

Master,
Every product ever made by no matter whom is always a statement product.
Grasshopper.
The key, grasshopper, is to discern the message behind the statement.

Tafens, send the question to info@schiit.com and they'll confirm the measurement (probably quickly). They did make some changes to the cooling hole pattern, so it's possible the cutout diameter may have changed slightly.

You mean YOU haven't bought a 2+ yet? Are you feeling OK?
@bcowen checked Jason's description of the changes for Vali 2+ and found out they added even more TRANSISTORS. if they managed to fit a few more tubes in there (even the 5-lead sub-mini types) he'd have a half dozen of them in house "yesterday" :)

 I'm holding out for the 13 tube version. I'm guessing that will be released well before the 300B version.

@Jason Stoddard why not build a solid-state "statement" HP amp for under $1k (MJ3???) with not only a gain switch, but a "timbre temperature" switch to adjust the warmness / coolness of the amp. that way with only ONE nicer (aka expensive) headphone (instead of the racks full that some head-fiers have) we can get the sound we want. . Ragnarok 2 feature set, without the melt-your-phones-like-a-soldering-iron-was-dropped-on-them power output.

One gain stage means only one DC servo in the signal path from source to transducers.

Added: the tube-rollers have Lyr3 with twin-single-triode franken-adapters and the 10+ tube OTL proto to drool over :)
