+1In the case of those Transcendent OTL amps (The Beast) the more tubes used, it increases the available power and lowers the output impedance at the same time.

Check it out there’s already Vali 2+ B-stock!
I've never owned a Bifrost 2, but when I had a Lyr 3 (with different DACs, including Yggdrasil), I certainly felt it held its own with both hard-to-drive planars (MrSpeakers Ether C Flow and Æon) and higher-end dynamics (ZMF Verité). Yes, I gave up the Lyr 3 for some relatively exotic and much more expensive tube amps, but TBH that was probably more for curiosity than for big improvement in sound. From what I have read, Bifrost 2 and Lyr 3 are good enough to work with the $1K-$3k tier of headphones

Yeah, I know, maybe they don't think of Amazon as competition. More as a cultural artifact.I don't think he can comment on other competitors' products due to Schiit's policy of not commenting on others' products (not even Sumo/Theta, where Jason and Mike formerly worked at respectively)
The Grado store is selling Schiit amps. Specifically, the Jotunheim, Magni 3, and the Fulla. https://4ourears.com/collections/amplifiers?mc_cid=25c8ed3fdc&mc_eid=c4544a1fe9
Don't have these any more (and not my picture), but these 32 tubes put out surprisingly little heat collectively. It was fun matching up 24 output tubes though.
PS: Do I win with 32?
Just how much cheaper were vacuum tubes back in the Olde Days?

LOL! Depends mostly on the popularity and demand for the tube in question. 20 years ago NOS 6SL7's were fairly popular as a number of manufacturers were using them in new production amps, and prices were about double what they are now. Most everything has switched to 6SN7's, and demand for 6SL7's has fallen off the side of a cliff. On the flip side, some tube types (and manufacturers) never seem to go out of style, and as the NOS supply continues to dwindle the prices continue to climb. I had a full complement of GEC KT-77's for the V-12i's that I paid about $90/tube for back then, but it's safe to say I wouldn't be buying another 24 of them now.
One half of you looks at the still-dismal distortion performance, and says, “Why bother? It’s still a turd in the measurement hierarchy. Why polish it?”
Mjolnir 2 still works that way.
That depends. Are you talking about a route from NC that initially travels northward and includes crossing both polar regions before getting to Texas?
