Schrödinger’s product announcementNope.
Sadly IKEA is neither the quality nor value for money they once were. Speaking from experience having had 90% of the home furniture from said vendor all my adult life, because, well, that’s where you go to buy furniture in this countryIt's okay to slander IKEA on build quality. Years ago there was a profile of IKEA by a journalist who interviewed execs at IKEA headquarters. He wrote that even at IKEA headquarters, they had tables and cabinets that wobbled and didn't align.
The Schiit PluggrOh you definitely "plug it in something". It's a suppository.![]()

What if you could do a streamer without the software? Not possible.
We would have to become a software company first, and that’s clearly never gonna happen!
But in all seriousness:
No streamer or anything remotely like it is in the works.
I’m just a bit frustrated about the state of the industry, that’s all.
Serious question with no snark intended:What if you could do a streamer without the software?
Could you do a custom carrier board for Raspberry Pi Compute Module? Tie it to a mimir DAC internally. The board would have the IO and DAC connections. Preferably a linear power supply. Customer could be responsible for providing the Raspberry Pi Compute Module and loading whatever OS they want.
So Schiit supplies metal chassis, motherboard for CM module....
So half way to a streamer without the full software support of the streaming part. It would just have to play nice on the driver's side with standard OS implementation.

I thought this was the silver bullet: (awful beer, shouldn't even be called that)I have more of those toys around BTW
Even Unison USB 384 can be further enhanced with the "Silver Bullet"

Serious question:
Based on what I have been saying the past few days about the absolutely crucial importance of the entire software and OS stack to ensure a maximum of sound quality, what exactly would be the point of us sticking an “empty” rPi into a case and call it a day?
Again:Lots of careful implementation needed to separate the streamer's noise away from the DAC (why else go through hoops of multiple dedicated power supply for Yggy if power filtering, regulation, etc. isn't a factor in maximizing SQ)
Also, what is probably meant by "empty" meaning you can insert a microSD with Gentoo or Roopie or Moode or Volumio, etc. etc. for the streaming OS.
