Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I'm on my phone and can't tell, what is it?
USB-C

Is the Byggy any physically bigger (taller? ). Kind of sounded like there are chassis changes, making sure for shelf size planning, is it staying same height?

Yggy+ size which is actually a bit less tall than OG Yggy case. There is no new Yggy++ chassis for Byggy. :D

Personally it took me 5 years from my first piece of Schiit until I finally purchased a Yggdrasil. Loving the sound thus far, and it does boggle the mind as to how much better Yggdrasil can get. 🤔
As I mentioned in the thread before, Yggy really transformed my system. And upgrading to Unison, and then to A2 both improved its sonics. Gungnir 2, IMHO, surpassed my Yggy in its current form. I skipped MIB, though I was sorely tempted, knowing that a big redesign has been in the works for a while. On the list now. Can't wait to see what Byggy is like.

@Ripper2860 The "Byggy" bit refers to the insides I guess. Ha! I am looking forward to the smaller chassis with the upgrade. The OG chassis is a monster.

Jason if all I’ve purchased on my used Yggdrasil from Schiit are LIM cards that were sent to me without my sending the Yggdrasil in, can I get on the list? Just trying to divine what “have purchased a significant upgrade through us” might mean. I won’t be offended if the answer is “no,” completely fine with what I got and seeing how things play out, too. Thanks!

Jason answered this question elsewhere on a profile post when someone asked the same thing:

If you bought Yggdrasil stuff from us, you qualify. Or if you upgraded. Or if you bought from a distributor. Just let us know your order number.

On the list for a Singular card. Stoked.

Need help deciding, I have the Yggy+ GS2 with Unison and listen mostly via USB or sometimes Toslink when watching TV.
I don't use HQPlayer and maybe never will, must look into that.

Also my Luxman have both tone controls, balance, volume control and VU meters.

For my use and system, the card only would be the most sufficient upgrade then?

Edit: Yes

Which browser and computer did you use?. It never worked on mine it’s still asking for shipping info but I already entered my delivery address

I can’t order unfortunately at this rate
Mac using the DuckDuckGo Browser
Questions for @ArmchairPhilosopher or @Jason Stoddard re Byggy upgrade :

1. Any chance one of the USB ports will be USB B? It would be awesome!

2. If I upgrade from OG A2, could I as user swap cards between A2 and Byygy like you currently can in Yggy +?

Inquiring minds want to know! 😂

The Gadget's name is Jord, and it'll be a separate product due later this year.
"Jord" in Norse mythology refers to the earth goddess, also known as Jǫrð, and is the mother of the god Thor. She is often associated with fertility and is a central figure in Norse mythology. This is going to be some serious schiit :confounded:

You, sir are a "cup half full" sort of person, and I salute you for it!
The optimist thinks of the cup to be half full.
The pessimist thinks of the cup to be half empty.
Me, personally, I'm a realist. I leave early so that I don't have to wash all of those glasses. 😏

Quick question - as previously stated, I am not 100% happy about having more than one volume control in the system, the Saga (any version) lacking a non-volume controlled output for use with headphone amps with it. Having one more in the Mimir, does not induce happiness.

That said, logic tells me that non-forkbeard behaviour of the Mimir defaults to a DAC behaving similar to a DAC with just one job... being a DAC! :D - that is, full volume, no eq, no special modes - is that accurate?

thnx!

Yep, with Forkbeard, just leave it at full volume, balance set to center, and EQ mode set to flat, and you’ll have “just a DAC.”

Without Forkbeard, that’s what it will default to out of the box.

The engineer in me says that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Thanks! Miraculously, it worked with the regular Microsoft Edge!

Can't wait for the Byggy!

What's interesting with Schiit now is the Byggy is now similar to the likes of Chord Electronics, Emm Labs/Meitner, Mola Mola Tambaqui, Nagra, Linn, dCS and Lampizator now with these custom implemented in-house DS DACs and FPGA implementation :)
