Saturday night Time Machine. The Civil Wars “Barton Hollow”. Beautiful album from 2011. We were fortunate to seem them in PDX. I do wish that they could have made that band work out, but that’s the way it goes…

Great album for sure! You were lucky to see them, now I'll have to play it tonight! She has a wonderful voice, and their harmonies are fantastic.

Thanks to some influence here, grabbed some Laphroaig 10 tonight, since they didnt have any Cask Strength available. Looking for other peaty Scotch recommendations, other than Ardbeg/Lagavulin, from the think tank here. Cheers!

Awesome choice!

As for peated recs, anything from a Campbeltown distillery is awesome, especially Springbank and Kilkerran. Balvenie Peat Week is great. Bruichladdich Port Charlotte. And Caol Ila 12-Year is delicious. Cheers!

@bassvirtuoso That makes my heart sing!!! ☺️

If that's what keeps you up at night…

Bought it (in the correct finish) for full price the morning it came out, years before I started working for Schiit.

Like most people following this thread know. Several glowing photos lit up this thread when Folkvangr was released.

A lot of Czech synergy going on right now in my music nook. Sipping a roasty Czech Dark Lager while listening to Czech conductor Karel Ančerl leading his Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in live concertos by Antonín Dvořák.

Mír všem!

Album's Qobuz link above.
A previous companion release features Karel Ančerl/Czech Philharmonic in orchestral works.

Ančerl's biography in the program booklet is worth reading. So many dramatic twists and turns in his life! It's hard to believe that he was appointed music director of the Czech Philharmonic without the musicians' consent, and he initially faced a lot of hostility from the orchestra.

Great album. I saw them on their UK tour, 30th October 2012, in Manchester. They split approximately a week later.
The music was great, but in the audience the on stage tension could be felt.

309’s were priced at $2550.00 right before they became NLA on their own.
“Yes, SME M2 Series tonearms are available again in the United States and Canada. This decision was announced in July 2023.
Explanation
SME previously only sold tonearms with their turntables.
The decision to stop selling individual tonearms angered some audiophiles.
SME reversed the decision and began selling the M2 Series tonearms again, but with a higher price.”

They are out there but other tone arms interest me more.

Another recent exceptional discovery is Bill Frisells:
One of the best electric guitar sessions I have ever heard. That good.
Generous bass, spacious soundstage...just lovely.
"Monroe" cut is one of my favorites.

Lots of good info on this site about privacy on the Interwebz

https://cyberinsider.com/browser/secure/
I use the duckduckduck they say it's safer so why should I not believe them?

Frankly you cannot be safe connecting your computer to their computer if you think they are not safe.

But I will have to try brave. Suprised duck3 is so low rated, is that only because of the M$ fiasco?
