HDMI de-embedder works fine if you can't get the TV to cooperate (but in the Syn development process, we literally did dozens...no problems.) HDMI de-embedder for projectors that don't have HDMI output.
Your life is better with less HDMI. Just say no to crappy interfaces.
(Super-Syn, or Seidr, would more likely be an add-on to your analog preamp, like Loki Max, in any case. So your DAC would be the limiting factor. And no, I don't see an HDMI input on our DACs in the future.)
indeed HDMi is awful, always struggling with it - goes on when you don't want and doesn't turn off when you want - somehow the arc function is not 100% 'compatible' ...
and this my friends is why we buy Schiit - or in the UK attempt to !! this kind of upgradability , bang for your buck etc is priceless . Thanks Jason and the team
Maybe there is a marginal change in the flavour. Sarah kept chickens for year and I never really noticed any significant change in the eggs. Just less or more of them depending on a few things.
They use goats here too in the suburban parks. A small area is fenced off where the weeds have gone wild. In a week it's pretty much under control again.
I am a longtime member with 14 pieces of Schiit, but this is my first post. I have 2 Schiit Ragnaroks, one empty, and this one fully loaded. This Loaded Ragnarok has been on 24 hours per day for my last several years, and it is the Only Schiit amp on my computer. This unit gets used more than all 13 of my other Schiit units (3 Vidar 2s, 3 Jotenheims, Yggie MIB, Mjolnir 3, Syn, 2 Tyrs 2, the bare Ragnarok, and a Kara. All the others arre in 2 other systems in the home, but all of my computer access and reading of this thread is on this most used Schiit Ragnarok. I will be sad to see it go and never be renewed and improved. I doubt I will pay extra to have anything forkbearded as it does not "Improve" the sound, and I refer to sit and listen to the music at its best, not play with hardware to distract me. That is why I bought and listen to the Mjolnir 3 and leave the KARA turned off: I don't care for the sound of the KARA at all and the Mjolnir 3 sounds great into the Vidar 2s and now the Tyrs into my Revel Ultima Studio speakers. The amps before were Parasound JC 1 s. The Ragnarok has always been my most used piece of Schiit.

I cannot agree more!! Longtime lover of the Rag 1 and 2.....I have been running mine (just an amp) with LS50 Meta's nearfield/Yggy A2 for some time now....Great Sound!! Sorry to see its line be ending.
If at some point, I would like to do separates, what might be an equivalent to the Rag2? Certainly the Gigastack would be way too much for my setup
It’s whatever you want your stack to be. That’s the whole point.
The closest to Ragnarok 2 would probably be a Saga 2, Modi, and Vidar 2.
Want something bigger than Saga 2? Go with a Kara.
Prefer tubes? Get a Freya+ instead. Or find a Saga+ on the used market.
Want something that sounds a little different than a Vidar 2, something more Class A? Get an Aegir 2 instead.
Need a whole lot more power? Wotan!
Want EQ? Add a Loki or Lokius.
Need a phono pre? Now you’ve got options way more sophisticated than the Ragnarok’s phono card ever was.
You prefer a component from the other guys? Now you can use those in your chain as well.
And if you want to replace a component later, you can, without having to replace the entire thing.
I get the appeal of the one-and-done approach. Heck, it’s one of the main reasons why I’m a Mac guy and not a PC tinkerer. But for audio, I do appreciate (and much prefer) the modular approach.
I have my 2 Macs because the ecosystem and OS design language are top-notch, not to mention the elegant hardware (Mac Studio Max) and my beloved Unix command line; I have my personally built custom (and slightly aging) Windows gaming PC; a Windows microPC (completely deshittified of all login accounts, ads, and misc. Microsoft BS) for telescope control because the best software for this task is on Windows; my work assigned Windows laptop. I prefer Mac for productivity but not my call; a Linux laptop because it's better than Windows ; 2 Linux servers because also better than Windows; iOS devices up the wazoo because they're all part of a cohesive system. I have an Android tablet around here somewhere, and a PalmPilot on a forgotten shelf. 2nd best tablet ever (and best by a wide margin in its time) was the HP TouchPad running Palm WebOS. I still miss that beast. Years ahead of its time, wireless charging and all.
