Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Yes,

I did the ferrites. Graham Slee has interconnects with the ferrites in the them. I also tried their Accession MC and Enigma PSU which both have filtering (at the same time as the ferrite cables). This attenuated the radio signal (AM), but did not eliminate it.

The only measure I have not done is the cage around the TT while playing or trying aluminum over the tonearm cable.
Yikes. You’ve run the gamut of my ideas at this point (until very recently in my major system reconfiguration, I used ferrite cores around my phono cabling religiously.) No longer need them with entire system fully isolated and star grounded on ONE dedicated circuit via the Tice Power gear. And, I live out in the sticks so minimal RF around…

Must be a HELLA powerful am signal… wondering out loud, Salamander AV shelving equipment makes shelves where the sides and back are a perforated metal mesh, which might give you a close approximation of a Faraday cage to surround your TT. (You could for example have grounding wires on the sides, and maybe put a flat piece of metal on top also grounded to build out a TT-sized grounded “cage”.)

Thinking “outside the cage” as it were…

Good luck

Today Finnegan is helping as I remove a turntable and then work to clean control pots. If nothing else the boy is helping remove dust.😺 IMG_8233.jpeg

Since this stereo is sold I need to get around to fixing it. I also received offers on other gear but I need to hang on to some items.

I'm glad my friend's company is continuing to deliver delightful challenges :) Connections to Schiit: 1) founded by a creative, unconventional engineer; 2) technically innovative; 3) direct sales. Here's an interview with the founder.
Cool. I ordered a puzzle and bookmarked others for gifts later this year.

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind if you posted one instead of three consecutive posts. Would mean slightly fewer pages to load and skim through for everybody else. :)
Well at least by posting three consecutive posts, u get to move your arms and fingers more and burn more calories..its good for your health!!

Have you attempted building a shield around your phono interconnects (from arm to pre?). OTOH, if it’s happening *inside* the arm; you’re cooked I guess.. <shrug>

Ahh - Rega arms do not have a separate Earth arrangement and share a common ground via the arms RCA leads - I'm now desperately trying to cast my mind back 30+ years to when I sold Rega stuff and recall what the hum/ stray rf pickup solution was !!!!

I remember now - the L/H channel screen was also the earth for the arm -and this sometimes caused hum when you cued up a lp or Rf pickup if the phono stage wasnt happy to use that as an earthing point - we often used an arm rewire kit with a separate earth tag - there is a solder a tag to the arm wiring points solution but i cannot remember the details

I am really close to the tower. There is a house then a field right in line. The rega with a mm cart works fine. That's why I am there now. I'dclike to try skill and maybe put my HanaEL back on the P2.

Luckily Turntable is a secondary source, not my primary.

I found a replacement idler I can install while the main one gets rebuilt. Most of my work has been laying on my back as I removed the control pots and preamp, naturally Finnegan had to see what was so exciting in there. I may have mentioned this is a BSR turntable, all other design is Motorola.
