From what I am hearing I would agree!
Its really excellent with the HE1000 SE cans...nothing is missing.
Light saber clean, clear, excellent soundstage...
Alex
We alone should discuss tubes in the future and ignore @bcowen. 🤪🤪 It will be our secret.

I sold all my vinyl to a shop on Magazine St. in New Orleans back in 2001. The owner's eyes lit up and he said "You've stocked my store for a year." Decided on digital only, tried different dacs and eq to improve the sound. Streaming is now +1 on my systems even though I have over 10K digital albums. Freedom of streaming is an understatement.
I used discogs to sell off my rarer stuff - shaded dogs, UK pressings, 1/2 speed, D to D - hated digital for so long - Krell 20i and Doug Sax lured me in, don't miss the ritual of zerostat, carbon brush, clamp - after the initial VPI washing, not to mention the space re-gained.

Yep. My first favorite Islay. Been my online handle for at least 25 year now.

Yeah I hate the idea of not “owning” my library as it were as well, but now that i know it has potential to sound good… I’m gonna give it a go
Awesome! Let us know how you like it. You will love this. Unfortunately, my father in law was a poor communicator. After he died, we found a folder describing his last wishes. He wanted to be buried with a "partial" bottle of 12 year old Islay. We poured a shot on his resting place. Happy Sunday!

Many thanks go out this afternoon to @Paladin79 for his generous send along of a nifty RTF ECC82 to try in my Vali 3. I've been down the tube rabbit hole a bit with the WE 396A, GE 5 Star, and a couple of other 5670s. This is my first foray into a 12AU7 > 5670 adapter and tube.

He was also gracious enough to gift me with an extension cable that gives my bedside rig enough reach to get the headphones comfortably on to my head! A blessing for my neck. A wonderful sonic Sunday.

I have never found a definitive answer on what RFT stands for but I do like some of their tubes.😉 “ That article also suggests "Repräsentant Fortschrittlicher Technik, and I've definitely seen it given as standing for "Radio Fernseh Technik". All in the ear of the beholder? The oldest R-F-T ad I've got I think is in the 1953-54 Brans Tube Vademecum, it gives the specific street addresses of their four factories but only identifies itself as representing "R-F-T".”

I have also heard Radio-Funk-Technik.

You are most deserving of my small contribution my friend!

Happy Saturday evening to my Schitty friends.

Lovin' me some ZZ Top, a Jalapeno infused Tequila margarita with Ginger Beer, and fresh socks (with fresh dog hair).

(Dogs are not allowed in the music room, but the rest of the house is their domain. 🙄)

**All that's missing to complete my rig is an Urd CD transport and an unobtanium Sol turntable.
Are you saving up for an Urd?
If not, you should be:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Call me warpped, but I can never hear the phrase "Try the wine” without thinking of

I go right to 'spill the wine, take that pearl...'

...this really blew my mind...

didn't know for a long time, what that line really means....

Welp, ol' Sixer is down with Covid, bunkered up in my bedroom. Thanking the Good Lord for easily re-located Schiit stacks and Ripper's still-awesome Dinosaur album recommendation.
Fortunately, most of my isolation days are landing on my weekend because the whiskey blending waits for no-one!
