Still on the fence about Gungnir 2 or GS2. I keep thinking Multiform + Forkbeard + 382 beats the GS2 out...
I pulled trigger on mjolnir3 with gungnir2, my audezes lcd3f should be happy. Ofc all silver and balanced connection

I wonder how i can benefit from this system on my floor speakers (current connection - tv -optical cable - some cheap dac - chinch x2 - nad c375bee - klipsch 280f) any ideas?

You're just starting to get used to the new Schiit sound signature. They moved away from the Moffat fat bass with the tight and deep bass with the MIB and G2.
BF264 is absolutely great, the only things I don't like with it - fat ass (or was it bass?) and insufficient resolution at the very top, which makes sound stage wide but very shallow. The musicians are aligned across the stage all in the front line, nobody wants to sit in the back. And you have to sit in the front row very close to them, pulling back to the 10th row is not what you paid for. Singers are always stepping in right in front of you. Voices resolution and texture is fabulous but singing from anywhere else is not allowed. Now tell me G2 is fixing that.

MIB and frankly any Yggy flavors will fix that. G2 will definitely fix that too

I know what you mean. That's why I still use the BF2 OG as it does have real depth but not as expansive as higher end Schiit DACs. IMHO, you'd get more bang for buck with keeping the BF2/64 and a nice tube amp for soundstage tweaks

In my experience BF2 OG is 10th row seating, shallower stage perception, while Yggy is 2nd row seating, deeper more separated stage. Part of this could be because of the vantage point of the row you're sitting at, as the closer you get to the stage, the more obvious the separation and depth will be. I actually don't like overly deep stages on speakers (they're fine on headphones though).

Yes. That's probably why I like the MIB flavor best for headphone listening. Like the BF2 OG, It also stages on 10th row but has Yggy levels of separation and depth and expansion. On speakers though, the OG will definitely feel more palpable (during my time at Schiitr, RIP. I wish we still have the Schiitr)

Wow, didn't know this. Interesting. I've owned A2 and LIM and they had upfront staging.

MIB has relaxed sound and is more pushed back in the mix which can feel less exciting in direct comparison to A2 and LIM. Pretty sure G2 should have similar presentation as MIB yet more mid-centric focus in the frequency range

Over time my eval of the G2 is that the bass and treble are flat FR wise, and that the mids are like + .15 db. Sometimes it seems the treble is self effacing and bass is laid back, then wham! It is an instrument that shows up the faux colorations of other DACS - the Yggy A2 comes to mind at once.

I can't imagine the new board coming out later this year will be much better, but, I didn't think anything would beat up my Gungnir MB A1 either. Heady days.

Is there any difference in sound between RCA and XLR output? If yes, why do you think there is, after all that's exactly the same circuit just going to the dark side in phase. Plz ignore the noise part, suppose the RCA is 1 ft long and is properly shielded.
