SoI tried the Grado RS1i for a bit on a loan and now the Hifiman HE-500.
 
I also burrow a Asus Xonar Essense STX for the Grado and it sounds amazing out of the box using the Asus Xonar.
 
Now I gave back the Grado RS1i and Xonar.
 
Just a few hours ago, I received the Hifiman HE-500.
 
Now I am amping it with my Samson S-amp and it sounds ok but kind of terrrible.
 
No where as good as the RS1 with Xonar sound card.
 
So now I'm choosing between picking up the Xonar Sound card or order a Schiit Asgard?
 
Which would be better for me?
 
My Setup: 
Using a Windows 7 pc with spotify and foobar2000
DAC: Hrt Music streamer ii
amp: samson s amp which stinks compare to the Xonar Sound card. 
Headphones: Hifiman he-500
