Hey, don't feel bad, I still don't know whether he is looking for a scanner for his computer, or a police scanner.

Yeah police scanners kick ass. I would get one but all the cops come into the shop where I work anyway and give me the 911 what's going on so I don't need one

bought 2 of these, 1 for my grandpa and he who can only check email and play yahoo games can use it fine.

the other i bought for a photobug friend and she loves it and also finds it very easy to use. ive used hers and must say its very nice esp for price.

this one is one that we use in my gfx design class, its pretty uber price, but best scanner ive ever used.

this one my friend has and he says it good and like it, he had some issues with the drivers on his system but he would tell you its his comp not the scanner. and i agree he gets kinda spacey so its him. ive yet to use it, but on his word the scan it produces if i was to buy a no professinal scanner this would be it

yeah. they do. i actually have two... well, technically, one is a scanner, and the other isn't. and if you're interested, i'm actually looking to getting rid of one of them cuz they both serve the same function pretty much.

Well, Kr..do you want to use the scanner just for documents or also for photos/films?

If case of the latter, I personally use Microtek ScanMaker 6100. It has max 3200x6400 dpi. As for scanning photos and color slides, it's one of the best in its category ("midrange"), it has NegaFix and SRD (Scratch and Dust Removal). The software works ok under XP, so far no troubles. It has a quite good color depth and 35mm strip film holder and also a 35mm slide template which is very uselful for me since I use color slides films. I paid about $230 for it.

I really like my Canon CanoScan LiDE 35. It's cheap and good... plenty clear at max resolution 1200 dpi. Also, it's powered by the USB link, and thin and light.
