So sennheiser decided to use cloth pads instead of synthetic leather since those material would start falling off after some time of usage. uh oh....cloth pad aint that good either...they pick up ordor and it is not easy to clean (i wouldnt wanna spray some febreeze on it). so i went to a local cloth shop, picked up some high quality vinyl/pvc/fake leather and made a headband wrap. went out of velcro, that is why i had some white color ones on there. will sew them onto the vinyl soon. here are some pics:

replacement would cost more than the cloth + velcro itself eh.

imo, the wrap dun look that bad eh....i just simply put them together temporarily since i its weekend and i ran out of tools.

Nice work, kin0kin! Despite one's hygienic practices it's probably wise to replace the earpads and headband every 2 or 3 years. I bought an HD650 headband and spare earpads for my HD650 and the total was less than $30 shipped for both (you could also buy the HD650 to replace the HD580/600 headband, as it is interchangeable and more comfortable, IMO). I'll try to locate the part number for the HD650 headband later tonight...

If you have oily hair, the more u wash it the oilier and more pungent (depending) it becomes. Recommended not to wash more then once daily even if you live in tropical countries.

I suggest getting a less smelly head. If that's not an option, then washing your hair on a regular basis might help too. And do check the smell/flavor of the shampoo, the "sweat" artificial flavoring has long been out of fashion.

fyi, this mod is not for people who dont wash their hair. whether you wash it or not, a person's head would generate natural oil almost anytime..unless you are one of those who has hair as dry as hay. odor builds up eventually, the only way i could think of preventing it is to use this kind of material as odor cant seep through it.

p/s: iwash my hair 3 times a day
