I wanted to make a portable set up that can tame a high quality pair of headphones in portable use as well as work well with my laptop at home. Budget may be of a concern but this set up would be what I use for the next 5 years in college since I don't have room for a full desktop set up nor the money.
Potential Future Headphones: Beyerdynamics DT990 / Sennheiser 650 / Denon AHD7000 / Beyerdynamic T1 / Sennheiser 800 / LCD-2
I definitely have the budget for the ALO Solo/Continental + DT990/650. But since I'm trying to make this set up last me a long time, I'd rather invest in an AHD7000 or a used pair of T1/800/LCD-2 to compliment an ALO Continental. Obviously most people would find it crazy to use any tier 1 headphone for portable use but I would definitely make it worth while. I would use the ipod > ALO > Continental.
I would assume that even though the ALO Continental is portable, it would still give me a huge improvement over my current set up of Clip+ & FiiO e11 > ATH-M50 and would be a decent desktop set up as well. Any more ideas would be appreciated.
