Hi,
I recently bought a sansa clip (4gb) and find it's not loud enough with KSC75.
Well, just enough when I turn up the volume about 90% of its maximum even with the volume set to "high".
I have c240 and don't usually turn it up more than 70% of its maximum.
Is it normal, or something wrong with the player I bought?
Thanks.

I'll try this combo when I get home. My theory is that you're either:

1. Listening way above safe levels.

2. Listening to very, very quiet music.

My guess is number one though.

Perhaps your settings are for normal volume and not high. Try this:
Settings->Volume->High then give another listen. I use the Portapros and the KSC75s and it is plenty loud.

Have you considered a CMOY amp?

To TheRockies,
The volume is already set to 'high' in 'settings'.

To Albinoni,
I have a Cmoy amp, and it gets much louder with it of course. But, I don't usually carry the Cmoy amp with me when I go out.

To Punnisher,
I don't usually listen that loud at all. But who knows. Maybe I'm slowly becoming deaf.

I think that's about right for the clip. I usually listen around 80%, going up to 90 once in a while for certain songs. 100% is generally too loud.

Like Armaegis said, the clip is not an especially loud player. But if a certain level is as high as you can go anyway, what difference does it make if that's 90 percent or 10 percent? You still can't go above it either way.

I have always thought it's not a good idea to run headphones at close to maximum level, because that may degrade the sound quality. But, I haven't notice any of that yet though. Maybe I just like to have some headroom.

The KSC75 is not exactly an easy headphone to drive, so for you to have to crank up the volume knob is expected. I play my KSC75 at 90-100% volume and my ER4p at 75% volume on my Fuze.

Is Clip deploy the new EU regulation on sound limitation? I was told that the new regulation controll the volume under 100DB (some said 85 db). if so, to most ears, it is not so loud.

usually, don't expect high output power from small player.

Lol, yeah - the thing is barely the size of a box of matches -- what do you expect, a woo 2?

I think driving the 60 ohm ksc 75's are a bit much for the clip. You could adjust the equalizer for more volume or use mp3gain to get more sound out of your tracks, but I find anything above 32 ohms on the clip and you're always pretty close to max.

op mentions its on 'high'

just tried my ksc75 with my sansa clip. I usually try to listen to music softly, on the clip I think about 60% on 'high' is loud enough, but I can understand some of you listening to close to 100%

If you need a louder player I highly recommend the cowon d2. I usually listen to it at 20-25%. However it is approx 2x the size of the clip
