Hi all,

i would like to asses if a standalone DAP would be better than Samsung S8 phone i am using. DAP i am looking at is Shanling M3s.
I really have not red all those previous posts in this topic, but i have found that Samsung S8 has build in DAC from Cirrus Logic as described here:

Normally i am using Etymotik HF5, 1more 3ple driver, AKG K545 and Tin T3 wired headphones, all of those are up to 32 Ohm impedance.

So, can anyone propose a use case where Samsung S8 is deemed as not sufficient?

I liked mine just fine with Shure SE 846 headphones. I have many standalone players as well but I was never the least bit sad with my S8. Now I have an S10+ and it seems a bit better still. With the right headphones the S8 is just fine. There is always something better but if the S8 is in your pocket already, you should be able to enjoy it as it is.
