For those worried about the quality of the dac in this unit.

Well fear not, i have one here right now plugged into my fiio e7 and superb is all i have to say.

The sound is imo about as good as you're going to get from such a device.

Currently listening to star wars medley 3 just as a quick test, wow is all i can say nearly as good as my hifi hp out if not better.

Impressive, most impressive.

I can take pictures if anyone fancies?

Very clean, slightly laid back top end could use a bit more sparkle, but good mids with good balance and separation.

Quite authorative, bass has good punch, but from the hp out the bass sounds a bit bloated, with the fiio it was spot on.

Certainly better than my galaxy s wifi 5.0

Shame you can't eq the video's.

Also no discernable hiss, using my sleek ct6 iems or my pro 900's

Could you connect the USB DAC of the FiiO E7 to the Galaxy Nexus ?

Galaxy Nexus audio player > digital audio flow  (?) >> USB >>  USB DAC of FiiO E7 > FiiO E7 amp >> headphone

Thanks

Actually voodoo control plus it might, i'll need to root my phone first.

That involves getting superboot through a vpn tunnel, as my lovely isp sky love to block mediafire and filehost grr.

Well im currently tearing my hair out in that regard, no fault of the phone mind.

When i run it in bootloader mode, w7 flips out and refuses to recognize it.

Installed the drivers and still no joy, so might be a while in getting root access.

But running it as a normal phone is fine, i can swap files etc.

Edit - Finally got the bootloader unlocked. I had to use pdanet then it unstalled the usb drivers i needed.

All unlocked, only trouble now is it's back to stock.

Anyway i'll give voodoo control plus a go asap.

No such luck, it's fussing that i need a kernel, also says superuser isn't there when it is.

I think an update is in order.

Anyway i've tweeted supercurio the creator so lets see what he says.

I was under the impression that a particular Wolfson DAC was needed for VooDoo to do its stuff. In any case, good news to hear that the new Nexus is a good sounding player. Thanks for the impressions and write-up

Well after much fiddling, i have now flashed my phone to android revolution hd 1.3.

It's a nexus phone yes, but i wanted superuser to be up and running.

Anyway it's working like a charm, still no voodoo as i'll need to wait for a kernel for that one.
