I was not quite sure where to put this post, so I hope this forum works. There is a way to get a digital out from the Samsung phone via a cable that plugs into the charging port. So I compared the Samsung to my newish HP laptop (via USB port), both running to a Mytek Brooklyn. The headphones were Focal Elears. There was much more gain from the HP, making it tricky to keep the listening volume similar. That said, I thought the sound was quite good out of the Samsung (though I had to almost max the volume on the Mytek), but not as good as the sound from the HP. From the HP, the music sounded richer and more detailed to me. Why the difference? I would have guessed it was just 1's and 0's from both, but that obviously would not account for the gain or sonic differences.
