I love it and it's a great way to taste a bunch of products. Typically at specially food markets, especially on the weekends, they'll promote of bunch of items and have pieces of specialty food items on a tray with tooth picks.
Free samples are fun and I love being surprised by how delicious some of these foods are. I love sampling the expensive cheeses at the high end markets especially. It's a great way to educate your palate too to get a feel of the flavors out there. So the next time you're at a market, don't be shy and grab a toothpick and try some samples.
