Okay, so I just love my old Hifiman Re-zeros, but due to bad build quality and having to glue them numerous times, I bought myself a new pair of them. The design is not exactly the same, as they seemed to have updated it (see pictures below).
However I am quite disappointed, because the new pair of headphones, although they are supposed to sound the same, they don't. The new pair have a punchy bass, but the midst are higher and the vocals somewhat lower so everything kind of blend more together, which I find very chaotic. This results in a little more narrow sound stage.
The old pair of Re-zeros have higher vocals and lower mids so you can just feel the crispness in the vocals.
Will the new pair of re-zeros burn it at all? Because at this point the mids and vocals just blend too much together.
