I always like to go the demo route myself and trust my ears.

I also always like to go the budget route, so I doubt I will be plunking down $600 for a new CDP unless my employment situation stabilizes a little next year.

But, all that said, I've used audio equipment reviews for years, as a starting place in my search for new gear. I've come to find some reviewers more "spot on" with my tastes than others. Wes Phillips is one of them.

Anyway, I noted with some interest that his recent reviews of the Sony 333 and the Musical Fidelity A3 state that the Sony is as good as the MF on redbook.

Everything I've heard about the 333 indicates that it's a steal at the prices listed here, but I can't seem to find it listed for anything less than $699 (at Crutchfield). Is there an online retailer that sell it for less than $600?

I don't trust Stereophile and their kiss ass reviews.

LOL, are you sure you aren't talking about Stereo Review?

Actually for some really expensive, "high-end" gear, I might agree with you. But the day Stereophile gives *Sony* gear "Recommended Component" awards, Sony's done something pretty darn well.
