Hey, my Grado S60 pads have worn out and I'm about to replace them. Any thoughts on the L-cushion vs. the S-cushion?

I would stick with the comfies, but quarter mod them. If you want to experiment, the bowls are only $15, but IMO the sr60 is pretty bright already, and the bowls would only enhance that.

To my ears the bowls were a drastic improvement over quarter modded comfies. I wouldn't say they were brighter, but the treble was more detailed, definitely. I actually thought they were maybe a touch better on the bass side as well. The mids weren't nearly as dominant as they were with the quarter modded comfies. With the quarter modded comfies, I thought the SR60's were nothing but midrange, the bowls really opened them up.

If have to agree with fj. The bowls create a bit of air space outside your ear that the Grados need to create decent bass response. With pads, my SR80 was even more direct, less soundstage, and bass-shy. As usual, YMMV.
