I own the X-FI HD USB external DAC and was wondering if I could use the s/pdif out on it to connect it to my fiio e11 with no problems?
s/pdif to 3.5mm question (Probably a stupid question)

No, s/pdif is digital. You can connect either the RCA or 1/4" outputs from the X-fi HD to the e11. The X-Fi HD should have come with an RCA to 3.5mm adapter cable which you can use for this.
