I'm looking to create a sound system connected to my computer.
 
On my motherboard I have an S/PDIF output, usb, a line out and three audio jacks which say side speakers, rear and c/sub.
 
Which one of these would be optimal to use or does it not really mater. Thank you

Is this future sound system 2.0 or 2.1 or 5.1 or headphones?
 
An external DAC connected to the S/PDIF or USB ports, should provide the best audio quality.
USB is very simple any easy connection, but does bypass the sound card, which is fine it all your audio sources are simple 2-channel stereo audio
S/PDIF will work with a sound card, so you can take advantage of an surround sound features of a sound card.
Your motherboard comes with a built in (on-board) sound card.
