You don't have to mod them. They're still enjoyable stock, IMO, but the mods really make a difference. Trust me, they're very easy to do. You'll have a hard time screwing it up if you're careful.

Well you can put foam under the ear cushions, that's extremely easy. And in order to open them up you simply twist and pull on the cushions, unscrew the 3 screws and layer the inside with dampening material and screw it back together. The only thing you can do to screw this up is if you break the wire going to the speaker driver which I did... then simply splice and solder it back in place.
