Russ andrews dac 1 vs Headroom Portable Desktop amp

Hi And thanks for reading this post.

I have been offered the above two dacs and really need some advice on which one to go for.
A quick google search indicates these are both good usb dacs but is one better than the other, would love to hear your feedback.
These are old dacs from 2006, is it worth buying these or is a modern usb dac a better choice.
The russ andrews is a copy of the stello da100 signature.
Many thanks in advance. John.

From what I've read on the forums, usb for dacs has advanced a lot since then.  I'd probably go with the russ andrews since it's a dedicated full sized dac, the other one is a dac/headphone amp that runs on battery

Hi Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Do you think i would be better off buying a new dac rather than one of these old models.

I have been offered the russ andrews and headroom for £250 each.  Is it worth the money compared to the newer dacs.

Many thanks. John.
