I first came across unique fella by wondering through the many canjam 2010 pics. I then checked out Rudistor's website:

Quote:
RP3-d, the sweet warm sound of tube input amplification, the punch and speed given by a discrete solid state transistor Class A used i n the power stage, plus the flexibility and quality of an internal USB-DAC unit. All of this in a solid refined heavy aluminum enclosure matching the tradition of Italian quality in design and manufacturing, all of this is the RP3d-DAC

Overall, a very interesting product with an even more interesting price tag (only $890). I have tried many searches through google and within the forums, but haven't come across anything? Does anyone have experience with the RP3-d?

It sounded good at CanJam, but I think that's all anybody can tell you without actually having some owners do comparisons. As a rule, I'm skeptical of combo boxes as they rarely seem to have both a superlative amp and a terrific DAC. If I had to guess, it looks like most of the effort here went into creating a nice amp section, and I wouldn't have very high expectations of how the USB DAC will measure up to its competitors.

^Those are my exact reservations with this product as well. I was hoping that the DAC side of this little beast was something along the lines of too good to be true.

I only heard the RP3-d briefly, just enough to say I thought it sounded "good".  Would love to have one for a longer audition - not sure that will happen, though.

I listen to it for a little bit and even that I like the Rudistor sound (I had 2 RPX-33 and still own a RP010B) I was not impressed with it. I thought it sounded good but not spectacular. I personally like the Violectric V200 better.
