It's been a long journey with these Shure earphones. First, I owned the E500 (purchased in 2007) and like many other owners, the cable dried up and eventually cracked on me. Shure was kind enough to replace those headphones with a new set of SE530 back in 2010. Now, the rubber is detatching from the top of the ear buds. One side has completely detached, and the other side is half way peeled off.
The headphones still sound great, I just wish they had the build quality of the SE535.
What should I do? Has anyone repaired this particular issue before? Shure mentioned they won't even fix this for money (even though it would have probably been ridiculously expensive).
