Does the board inside the SR71 have some play/looseness when the batteries are not installed? It appears that the channel on the inside of the enclosure, where the board sits, is a little wider than the board itself. Thus the board has some play and rattles whan it is moved around.

Is this true of all SR71's. Just want to make sure that it is not defective.

Hmm, I know my sr71 does rattle a bit without batteries in it, but is rock solid when batteries are put into it. I'll check it out later and report back, but I think it's normal. Does the rattling still occur when you put batteries in?

Same here! LOL! I thought mine was defective also (after switching from a Hornet), but once those batteries are in there, it's SOLID!
