I love the look of your rig, can you post some pics without flash?

the hr2 goes well with the Rega style cdp! I also love the woo stand..everything in that pic together has some panache to it..you have style and your setup has grace (not Ray's wife)...congrats and thanx for the pics..they are an inspiration to me...

now I need a Rega cdp for my hr-2 and raptor..hehe

and to offer some advice on the Raptor....

honestly I love my #0001 raptor but the hr-2 goes head to head with her. the hr-2 is amazing with ANYTHING while the raptor becomes craptor with my sensa's (and 2 or 3 driver iem Should have this)..
the hr2 truely stand face to face in SQ the Raptor will beat it using some Senn's and the raptor sounds great with grados and At's but....
the hr2 is great with senn's and amazing with Grados (actually its just a love/love relationship their and since you have the iem's dont think about the raptor..actually stay away from tube amps alltogether..its a no can do...kind of like you powering speakers from a headphone amp. the reason is all 2 or 3 driver iems use a 4ohm driver for the highs..tube headphone amps can not drive the highs..

rolling tubes is fun and so is opamps, though there are more tubes to choose from but!......the hr2 is always on and there is no warm up time so any moment its ready to go, unlike the raptor needing a few mins to give a decent sound..

if I had to choose to let go of every RSA amp i own (hornet,sr-71,hr2,raptor,xp-7, b52) and keep one only for headphones it may be the xp7 with power supply just in case I need portable but if I dont its the hr2!

of course I have no plans on getting rid of my two number one products (#0001) the raptor and the b52!

i have not done a comparo against the hr2 and b52 yet as i am still sort of sick and alittle to new to the b52 just yet.

in other words forget about the raptor, you have a beast of beast's there now...just buy more cds and enjoy your music.

I just got the chance this afternoon to sneak upstairs for a few mins to listen to the HR-2/Planet 2000 Combo with the switch in the down position Gain (2) I plugged my newly acuired UE-10 Pros.

I made sure the volume pot was all the way down because I didnt want any surprizes. My initial impression were to throw my IPOD in a river (just kidding). WOOOOH! very impressed. Not sure if it's the Planet 2000 the HR-2 or the combo just works but having the ability to drop the gain and be able to enjoy HD 600's and UE-10's is a nice feature.

I immediatly notice much more bass definition and an extention in the high freqs that quite frankly I didnt here with my Lossless Files. I guess the DAC in the IPOD gotta be the weak link right?

I know this is a one-off but Ray should consider charging an extra $100 (not on mine please lol) bucks an make the option available. It's like I got a second amp for FREE! (Let me believe it OK!)

The HR-2 continues to impress me but the combo of a better source and a high grade amp brings me into a whole new definition of what good sound is.

My biggest fear now is where does it end there is better an better and better than that!!!! I gotta chill for a while and just enjoy. Im done for a bit. Of course I thought that nearly $3,700 ago!

WOOOOOOSAAAA! WOOOOOOSAAAAA!

i used to be a hard core grado fan but after getting the hr-2 I tried the 600's and fell in love. I bought some 650's and also liked them but lately I have been using the 600's with the b52

Seems to match very well with both the HD600 and UE-10's very smooth and accurate sounding. Crispy Highs but not Harsh at all!

The exact same thing is happening to me too. I used to love Grados and I owned quite a few of them. But now I can't stand the small soundstage and the slightly harsh sound. Not impressed with the RS-1 at all. God, the GS-1000 really spoilt me didn't it?

I want to give the HD600 and HD650 a try.
