Hi all,

I know from a friend that the newest RS1e with brown headband sounds very different than the black RS1e, in better way for him.

I am going to buy a RS2e, but there are also 2 versions now in Europe at same time, the brown and black one. Most sellers are still selling the black one, the rest sell the brown one.

I would like to ask, is there between 2 versions of RS2e much difference in sound like RS1e? If yes, I would definitely buy the newest brown one, if it is the same, I have got an offer for just 300€ to buy a black one and I can buy a headband just for a better look from internet.

Has someone here compared both RS2e?

Thank you

Rodomo

Grado has said repeatedly there would be no changes in the sound of the RS1e,
and the company is sure getting blasted pretty much daily here on HFi for
releasing that model - especially as the successor to the highly praised RS1i.

Do you have any links - or anything - that supports your friend's claim of
"improved" RS1e's?

The change in headband color was recent. IIRC Grado reported that it only
affected the headband color and nothing else.

For the RS1e I can confirm it has been definitely changed, when you compare the driver of black and brown one, you can see that the driver of brown one is shorter than the black one or the wood case ist longer, and the sound is very different.

I don't have fotos to proof that since I don't own both, but there is physical difference clearly to see, for me the sound of the brown one is much better.
