Hello everyone.

I recently purchased a new pair of AKG K701 headphones to use with my Outlaw 990 pre/pro and as I sit ~ 20' away, I also purchased the Radio Shack, 20' headphone extension.

As I'm in the process of building an HT system, I asked the fellow that built my speaker cables if he could build me a 1/4" to 1/4" headphone extension and at what cost? Well, he used Japanese Canare microphone cable and Neutrik's connectors, for a 20' length, @ $38.

Let me tell you all that this, so far, has been the best $38 I've spent on my system. The difference in sound quality is quite noticeable. I'm not HiFi speak literate, but, overall, the listening experience is richer, with deeper bass and, when listening to my tuner, less background noise.

Take my word for it, if you're going to use a headphone extension, get a decent one. If you're interested in a custom built extension like mine, contact Bob at:

While I love this hobby, it sure can get its hooks into you!

Enjoy!
